This series of portraits describes moments that make us close our eyes and breathe in. Such experiences have many names – inspiration, meditation, love, ecstasy, or simply happiness. What they have in common is their lightness and elusiveness, like a silk cloak slipping over bare skin. These experiences come unexpectedly and make us stop to wonder what was the cause? Could it be music, or a familiar smell, a touch?
While we ask this question, our thoughts become disrupted by a stream of sea breeze that flows and billows into the furthest parts of our being. We close our eyes and inhale as deeply as we can. Ocean air fills our lungs and spills as drops of salty sea water in the corners of our eyes.
Before we have had our fill, the flow quickly dissipates, leaving us calm and a little confused. Despite the transience of this experience, we are full of gratitude, knowing in our hearts that what we have just experienced is Life.
